When to Pray

The bible mentions prayer thought out the bible.  The interesting thing about prayer is that God already knows what you are going to ask or prayer for, but He still wants us to pray. Prayer is defined as an address (as a petition) to God or a god in word or thought.
Can you image how long Paul's prayer list was? I am thinking it was long, because he mentions in some of his letters that he is praying for people.  A few verses that he says this is Ephesians 1:16 and  Philippians 1:4.  There are others too that Paul mentions I will pray for you.
Prayer can be done at anytime.  In fact, prayer is not just a petition to God to get want you want, but a way to praise and thank Him for all the things He has done in the life of everyone.  Paul uses prayer as as a way to thank God for the Churches that living for God. Jesus said that this is the way to pray in Matthew 6:
 “‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
10 your kingdom come,
your will be done,

on earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us today our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts,

as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from the evil one."

Colossians 1:3

We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you, because we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love you have for all God’s people.
